The American Pole Fitness Association (APFA) will present, the 1st ever city/government official approved public showcase of pole fitness performances, FREE to the public on Union Square Park, Thursday, October 7, 2010 from 12:00 noon to 7:00 pm. This public showcase will mark a historical moment in pole fitness history worldwide. Union Square Park is an important and historic location in the heart of New York City and has served as home base for countless community events and festivals and will now proudly add pole fitness gymnastics to the line up this year. The presentation is a preview of the first AMERICAN POLE FITNESS CHAMPIONSHIPS™ event that will occur on Saturday, October 23rd, beginning at 6:30 p.m. in the Grand Ballroom of The Manhattan Center (311 West 34th Street, bet. 8th & 9th Ave )of which POLE SPIN MAGAZINE is a proud sponsor. As part of APFA’s ongoing effort to help educate the world about the art of Pole Fitness as a form of sport, APFA has gone through great lengths to make this day possible. APFA will organize several professional pole fitness performers who will demonstrate some of the most jaw dropping, gravity defying, physical tasks. The public will be able to see how they harmonize their body movements to the lilting tunes of choreographed music and the artistry and dedication in pole fitness. They will showcase their strength, rhythm, balance, flexibility and agility of the sport to help promote the many benefits and options to staying fit.
