The Alzheimer’s Association, New York City Chapter’s Gala was the setting for the launch of a new charity initiative by Pole Spin magazine. The annual “Forget-Me-Not” Gala, An Evening To End Alzheimer’s was held at The Pierre’s Grand Ballroom in New York City on Monday, June 6, 2011. The event was the terrific evening of dining, dancing and entertainment. Highlighting the theme, “Raising Awareness,” where actor and advocate, David Hyde Pierce was the Gala’s MC and Chapter trustee, Peter A. Antonucci, of Greenberg Traurig as the Chair of the event. The evening honored philanthropists Bob and Helen Appel with the 2011 “Community Leadership” award. American Pole Fitness Association and Pole Spin magazine partnered on this event with the credible Alzheimer’s Association, New York City Chapter to support the cause by donating Premium VIP tickets to the upcoming October 14, 2011 American Pole Fitness Championships and Pole Spin magazine subscriptions to the event’s silent auction to raise funds towards the fight to cure the devastating disease. Proceeds from this event support the Alzheimer’s Association, New York City Chapter, which serves over 250,000 people with Alzheimer’s and related Dementias disease, as well as their family members and caregivers. The event raised over $1,200,000 to support the program and services for the Alzheimer Association, New York City Chapter! Several categories of auction items such as in travel, lifestyle, restaurants, fashion, sport, e.t.c from companies such as Gucci, Balenciaga, NY Yankee, NY Knicks, to name a few were displayed in front of 550 high-profile individuals representing some of the largest organizations and corporations in the country. American Pole Fitness Association (APFA) was prominently displayed along with high other high profile companies as one of the contributors on the event’s website.
