Stage Managing Officials of the APFC 2011
September 16, 2011
American Pole Fitness Association (APFA) is proud to present the official dynamic duo, Tracee Kafer and Lauren Goldstein. Lauren, a long time committee board member since the inception of APFA, will be the official Stage Manager of the American Pole Fitness Championships 2011 (APFC) and Tracee Kafer, returning for the second year in a row as the deputy Stage Manager.
About Lauren Goldstein, APFC 2011 Stage Manager, APFA committee board member: Realized she loved dance from an early age. At the age of four she began her classical ballet training, only to find almost a decade later that it was too restrictive for her energetic and creative personality. Much to her dismay, she spent the majority of her teenage and college years dance free. Little did she know, that would quickly change. When she was invited to a bacherlorette party at a pole dancing studio in Baltimore, her life transformed. Her fire for dance was immediately rekindled the first time she swung herself around a pole. It was love at first spin, and within months of stepping into a studio she had progressed into a skilled and sassy instructor, finding pole dancing to be as natural as breathing. Despite years of formal dance, art, and design training, Lauren has found pole to be her ultimate expression. It is her passion, it is her life, and it is what she spends the majority of her free time engulfed in. She loves the way it makes her body look and feel, and she loves the confidence is has built in her. She is a principle pole instructor at Body and Pole in New York where she shares her passion with others.
About Tracee Kafer, APFC 2010 & 2011 Deputy Stage Manager: Dance was a first love for Tracee Kafer, who started at the innocent age of 3. Many moons later, and with over 25 years of tap, ballet, jazz, lyrical, musical theater, and modern in her repertoire, she has now turned feverishly to pole dancing to reach new heights (…literally) and it has only deepened her attachment to dance as a means of artistic expression. She believes that dance can create a deeper knowledge of self, of life’s experiences, and of the connections we have to one another.
Tracee has diverse background in pole dance training, and teaches at both Sacred Studio in Brooklyn, and Body & Pole in Manhattan. Tracee was selected to compete in Polesque 2010, and also in Polesque May 2011, where she was awarded Top 3 placement along with APFC Stage Manager, Lauren Goldstein. Tracee is actively involved in Give Her A Voice, an organization that aims to heal the trauma of abuse through art and creative expression. She recently performed in the first Give Her A Voice production, The Telling, choreographed by Lara Luzim, which raised thousands of dollars for the Brookwood Home For Girls. She also pursues a career in creative design and marketing and works in the health & beauty industry in New York City; but at night, she teaches, studies, and performs the art that makes her feel her most alive.
